4 Signs That Mean You're Ready for a Change

4 Signs That Mean You're Ready for a Change

It's never too late to reach your potential. However, it might be uncomfortable to do so. It means bringing new things into your life - and shedding yourself of some old ones. Here are 9 signs that you're aching for that change to come:

1. The only thing in your way is fear.
If everything in your life is set up for a change, but fear is the only thing keeping you in place, you know you're ready for a change. Your fear is there to protect you. It'll show you images, give you feelings, and bring up memories to deter you form doing something potentially dangerous.

You have to acknowledge your fear, own it, and make the change anyway. Once you get to the other side, you'll look back and thank yourself for having the courage to make it.

2. Your mind is everywhere but here.
When we grow tired of our circumstances, our mind avoids them. It gets distracted easily. You'll feel bored a lot. It's like the difference between eating a tasteless meal - and one rich with flavor.

When eating a flavorless meal, your mind will wander, and it's easy to converse. But when you eat something ripe with flavor, it's impossible to do anything but focus on the food. It pulls your attention in. When your life is the way you want it, it has the same effect.

3. You feel pressured to be someone you're not.
If your circumstances force you to be someone and do things that are the opposite of who you really are - it's time for a change. It's time to make your life a wonderful, challenging reflection of yourself. Not a series of events that you force your way through.

4. Other people are living your dream life for you.
If you watch TV and wish you were the characters... If you see people walk down the street and think, "They just have it too good." ... It's time for a change. What do they have that you don't? While envy is important in that it shows you what you really want... don't let it consume you. Take action. Make your life better rather than resenting others for making their lives better.

If there's anything I've learned, it's that no one has it easy. Everyone has their struggles. Accept that you have to face yours to make your life better, take steps to make those changes, and it'll start getting better on its own.

The Best Way to Get Better at Martial Arts

If you're just starting your training - or even if you've been training for years - certain techniques are going to give you trouble. Sure, there will be some you seem to naturally get. But others will confuse and overwhelm you.

Here's how you get through that confusion, and become a master:

Repetition.

Simply put, you have to do the move over and over... and over again. It might take 1000 tries before you finally start to get it. It might take 2000. However, repetition is what's going to get you there.

Alternate between doing the move very, very slowly - and doing it more quickly. Going through it slowly help you understand it better. Going through it quickly forces you to react more instinctively than mentally.

Good luck!

Wisdom for an Awesome Week

Here's a great quote for you:

"Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love."

- Rainer Maria Rilke

Meaning: When you start to see the struggles in your life as things that need your caring attention - suddenly they transform from "dragons" to "princesses." Suddenly they're opportunities for growth and peace rather than sources of stress and fear.
